According to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC) website, acai berries are useful in treating heart disease, stroke, diarrhea, autoimmune disorders and even cancer. The website of the Mayo Clinic added that the berries are also used to treat arthritis, high cholesterol, erectile dysfunction and to aid in weight loss. Research 
MSKCC describes several in vitro and animal studies would suggest acai berries are effective as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. As an antioxidant, juice attacks free radicals that damage cells believed to cause aging and cancer. In fact, research published by the University of Florida suggests that acai berries can be useful in combating leukemia cells. The University of Florida news website added that the acai can be effective in treating high blood pressure and cholesterol as well.

The potential interactions 
Since there has been little research done on acai berries until now, no documented adverse effects to them, including how they affect sleep. MSKCC But the site warns that people taking chemotherapy drugs should avoid taking acai in any form, as it may interfere with the action of anticancer drugs.

Used Forms 
Acai berries are best when eaten fresh when fresh, but they are hard to find in the rough, except Brazil. But they can be found in the juice, smoothies, energy drinks, tablets, capsules, tea, jam, ice cream and foods as health extract many gourmet food stores or, as the Mayo Clinic.

Considerations 
Acai berries can cause an allergic reaction, even if you've taken before without reaction. When acai drink, watching for swelling of the lips, tongue or face, and rash or urticaria. If any of these symptoms, stop taking the acai and contact your health care provider.
